Told everyone I didn't want to be left alone tonight and there's a very obvious reason, me and summer didn't get to bond properly straight away due to my complications and tonight she won't settle unless a midwife settles her but as soon as the midwife goes she screams again, she won't latch on any more, my nipples are so sore from not latching on properly, I can hardly move due to stitches and swelling. Not even 2 days in and I feel like im failing her :(

Off course your not failing her babe. Breast feeding isn't easy at the start and bows the time to seek the most support, we are only human!!

They shouldn't keep you in Hun unless it's medical if you feel ready to go home you can discharge yourself but you'll have to sign a form saying if anything happens they'll not be at fault, breastfeeding is hard for the first few days until you get into the swing of things first day was amazing for me then second day we struggled to get him to match and I was so tired and sore and upset but I didn't want to call midwifes or to back to hospital so I found if Tom helped it would work if your OH is with you maybe ask him to move your nipple around under his nose and when he's ready to him then push his head in a bit that seemed to work for us I know it's hard and your in so much pain but if you really want to BF don't give up too soon but if your happy to just do what's best for you both xxx

@daisysmummy, is right the midwifes are there to help. They will help latch summer on properly and once she feeds properly she should settle. Also as you can't get up and move around that is probably also a reason summer won't settle as babies like movement and rocking you are not failing her having a newborn is very difficult and being in hospital with a newborn is even more difficult. I wish I could be with you to comfort you but all I can do is tell you it will get easier. Sending big hugs. I take it your OH wasn't able/ allowed to stay? Xx

@briony1994, you aren't failing her Hun. After everything you went through giving birth to her, you understandably will feel like you do. I had minor issues when I had my little boy (nothing on your scale) but I didn't get to bond straight away which was why I chose to bottle feed. Don't ever be afraid to ask for help, that's what midwives are there for. Don't feel like they are judging you because you are trying to do your best by your little girl even if it's hard. They shouldn't keep you in any longer than necessary. Here if you need a chat xxx p.s I had stitches, I know the pain you feel. It'll take a couple of days to get moving again but don't worry too much, take whatever painkiller you can to numb the pain x

They'll only keep you in if they have to :) I'm sure they get it a lot! You're exhausted and need to sleep! You'll cope a lot better once you've had a bit of sleep :) it makes me laugh that I use to say I was scared to have Daisy on my own because I do all the night feeds completely alone because my OH is on medication and doesn't wake up to her and due to his back I do everything for her 90% of the time during the day as well! 😂 we're mums, we learn to cope when no one else can xx

I'm scared that if I tell them I'm not coping then they will keep me in another night :( @daisysmummy xxx

Get a midwife and tell them that you feel like you aren't coping, tell them that your nipples hurt and that she isn't latching on, they won't judge you :) when Daisy was a week old I had to spend two nights with her alone on the rainbow ward and I was terrified because I had never been alone with her before! I had nurses on standby all night haha

I just absolutely love some women on here! Some woman wants to write on another women's post telling her she shouldn't be having sex at all in the beginning of pregnancy. I didn't know she was her doctor. Then she wants to tell me that the first trimester is only 1-9 weeks pregnant. And she lost her baby at 4 weeks pregnant due to sex. Like sweetie that's your period starting!

Baby won't bear weight on leg

Baby won't bear weight on leg I have a walking 10 month old and she has been extra fussy yesterday and today. Today I noticed she didn't really want to crawl, she would just cry until I came and picked her up. After I fed her, I tried setting her down to play with her big sister and she just started crying and wouldn't put any weight on her left leg. She will put weight down on her right leg but then just cries until you pick her back up. I thought maybe she just didn't want to be put down (as baby's often do). I tried a few more times over the next 30 minutes and she still won't put any weight on it. I had a meeting (I work from home), so I took her upstairs to my husband. She is now playing with her siblings and happy, but he text me (from upstairs) and says she still won't put weight on it. She is just sitting there playing.
