My 6 week pp check up was suppose to have been this past Monday, but I was at the beach so I rescheduled. I go on the 8th and I plan on getting birth control, but have no idea which one to get. I had the depo shot years ago and it caused me to gain a lot of weight so I do not want that one again. && has to be one that won't interfere with breastfeeding.
Any suggestions??
They numb you, so no it does not hurt going in. Your arm will be a bit sore for a few days.
As i mentioned before. A birth control may work for one and not another. I wouldn't listen to other peoples recommendation on what to get or what not to get because they had a bad experience. I had a horrible experience with mirena, but it works for many other people. Best of luck mama and i hope you find one that works for you on the first try.
@britt16, it was!! Some of my friends did great on it, but some of them bled the same way I did 😟
my friend got the 3 year one in the arm and she was fine. it's different for everyone but that's what I was gonna get. if it causes problems they can always take it out.
I would not recommend the one that goes in your arm. I had it and I bled for 6 months straight, non stop, it made my emotions haywire. I was off the wall bitchy. I took it out after 7 months because I would not stop bleeding it was ridiculous. But everyone reacts differently.
I'm horrible at taking pills, but I guess I could always set an alarm for it. @santistevanmommie
I had a great experience with nexplanon. I had no period for 15months until my son started nursing less. With that said, it did not affect my milk. He is 2 1/2 and I'm still able to nurse. I also did not gain much weight using it. Choosing a birth control is difficult. Unfortunately the only way to know if something is for you is to try it. Try to avoid the horror stories and speak with your doctor about good options.
I set an alarm to take mine. I haven't had any bad experience with it. Even kept my periods away for awhile
