We started cereal at 4,months. It all just depends on when the baby is ready. My son at 4 months was sitting by himself pretty well and was opening his mouth for bites. Those are two good signs they're ready for cereal. As for cereal in the bottle it doesn't actually help and can be a choking hazard.
I had to start putting it into my son's breast milk (pumped into a bottle) at 3 months due to acid reflux. It helped keep everything down. I actually started feeding it to him with a spoon in a bowl at 5 months. He does great with it!
4 months usually at the earliest unless your doctor approves it. Also, try to use oatmeal cereal instead of rice. A lot of doctors and Nutrition specialist are advising mommy's to use it over rice because rice is not very good for babies.
@isabellesmomma212 okay! I just feel like she's eating about every hour and my aunt is a nurse and she said it seems like she is ready. her daughter was ready at 3 months
lol yea, my daughter eats 5 oz and would still act hungry so we did that, it helps stretch it out an hr or so, she try's to eat 5'oz every 3 hrs but most of them time is 4-5 hr
When it comes to situations like this it's best to just ask the doctor. Bc all these girls will do is tell you based on how they parent their own kids. When you feel the need to add cereal then do so. You're the mama. 😉 Just start out with a little bit. Don't go based off of others. You know your baby better than any of us ever will. ☺️
@rapunzel_304 Right! that one chick was just uncalled for. I will ask at her 2 month. And when I mean give her cereal I mean give it to her in her bottle I'm not gonna spoon feed at 2 months lol
I just had to put rice in my daughters Bc I saw that similac has a formula with rice for babies with acid reflux and I know for a fact that's what mine has. I have done it twice so far and her spit ups have gone down tremendously. I know it's gona help with the cost of formula Bc with her spitting up so much she stayed hungry. So rice is my heaven sent! Lol I hope things are better for you @courtney017 🤗

@courtney017, then you should try 6 ounces. She's probably going through a growth spurt, if she's not even 2 months old she's not ready for cereal.

If she is still hungry after 4-5oz of formula give her more formula. It's not that hard.

Ask your doctor, my daughter wasn't 2 months yet and she recommended rice cereal in her bottle, she's 2 months old now and she's fine

I gave my son a sprinkle of rice cereal on his bottle at 5 weeks. I started off giving him one bottle of it to see how he would react
