I've always heard it's so the baby doesn't get too big but, it used to only be used in emergencies but, has become an optional thing :/

I got induced because of my high blood pressure, there could be all sorts of reasons, guess depending on you and your doctor's birth plan.

Oh wow! Thank you! I wouldn't want to get medically induced unless absolutely necessary. Feels like I'm kicking him out of his own home if I do that lol. I'll eat all of the pineapples in the world though 😂.

My doctor delivers 2 hours away from me but sees patients from all of the towns around this one major town, he induces because he doesn't want people driving that far in labor and also so he can plan on how many births he is doing that day so you know for sure he will be able to deliver and not a different dr at the hospital. He induces at 39 weeks no earlier than that, unless medically necessary.
