@graciesmummy Breast feeding is deffo a bonding experience! But even with bottle feeding you can get that bond :) I think it took me awhile to form a bond because I was so overwhelmed with it all haha! I waited until the birth to find out the sex...so I didn't really have that initial bond before giving birth (if you know what I mean) But I did love my bubba! I knew that for certain Xxx
@graciesmummy It deffo helps the uterus skrink back :) Well I lost 2 stone during my first trimester and then put it on again from 28 weeks :) Then lost it again after birth within 2 weeks :) Breast feeding burns around 500 calories :) It isn't only beneficial for the baby bit also for the mother...they say it can reduce the risk of breast cancer and other things xxx
ive heard a lot of good things that come with breastfeeding alongside the nutrients for your child but did any of you feel like it helped with weight loss stuff like that and also the bond you have with your baby.. im so excited @tam77 @winterbaby95 xxx
@graciesmummy I was very adament about breast feeding...and I got comments like "wouldnt that hurt?" "that hurts" But i ignored it :) you never know until you try it yourself and yes like @tam77 said its always good to have a back up plan :) I bought bottles incase I needed to express/formula feed xxx
@graciesmummy If you have any problems hun...the midwives/nurses are happy to help :) My hospital had a lactation specialist come and visit the mums to make sure we felt comfortable etc :) xx
good plan @graciesmummy its def worth a try and having a back plan if you need it. xx
thank you for getting back @tam77 @winterbaby95 i do want to try to breastfeed just didnt know if it hurt or not just hope she latches on if not i might express it for a bit and then go onto formula xxx
I often fall asleep during feeds! Especially at night (we co-sleep) xxx
When they first latch on..you feel like a pulling sensation..but it didnt hurt xxx
Depending on how the baby latches..whether they have a tongue tie or not can determine if it hurts or not :) On day 3 my nipples got sore from the constant sucking...I used Lanolin cream for 2-3 days and the soreness went....it never happened again...the soreness can be off putting :) but I just stuck with it and it was fine xx
it can be painful after a few days whilst baby learns to latch on properly. Although some find it easier than others. Ive never found it easy and this time ive expressed the milk out and given in bottle as i find it easier and less painful but you never know really it depends on the baby too i think. xx
how does it feel when they first latch on? @tam77 im wanting to give her the first bit because its supposed to be the best bit xx
yes is the short answer. for the first few weeks it can be hard work and painful but gets easier. xx
aw it sounds really good iknow if i dont try breastfeeding i will end up regretting it but thanks for all the advice i really appreciate it @winterbaby95 xxx
