Tips on how to get rid of a dummy?
My son is 2 in september and he still doesnt sleep through the night and i believe its because he doesnt know how to settle himself without a dummy. He is starting to wear me out now, tonight ive only had approx 2 hours sleep, im suppose to be working tomorrow and all i wanna do is cry because im soo physically exhausted and its even more frustrating when my partner is fast asleep next to me EVERY night. He never deals with our son. Please help a mumma out before i break 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

problem is tho hes too young to understand all that atm. which is why im stuck in a major rut. i think im just gonna have to go cold turkey x

I made a game and my boys (girls never had them but boys loved them) found the dummies around the house and then we left them out in a gift bag with a note to the dummy fairy to take them for new babies who needed them, and in return a pressent was left when the bag was taken worked with bottles aswell for all of them, doesnt have to be a big gift just something little x

cut a small hole in the teat so he wont like it as wnt work the same x

Yeah he don't have a dummy anymore, it worked with my little sister and her bottles aswell, it's deffinatly worth a try xx

So he had a dummy and now he doesn't have one? I had this problem with my son, he wouldn't stay in his room, kept coming into me at night and not settling back. In the end during annual leave I had to put a bean bag by his bed and gradually move it further away to the door each night (and each time he cried during the night). Until eventually I was out of his room. It took about 4 days and was hard work but it paid off in the end. With regards to the dummy, I initially tied that to his bed so he could only use it in there. Then eventually got him to give it to s baby monkey at the zoo.

I've not used this but when my cousin wanted to get her son off the dummy she used his favourite character from program saying that they took it to help other kids and things like and it worked a treat, he put them all in once place before bed and then when he woke up in the morning they was gone and a letter and toy was in their place xx
