you should take everything a Dr says with a grain of rice. A Dr is not in charge of your baby, you are the parent. its an open wound. alcohol will not hurt the baby it will actually help them because the cord is a lovely place for bacteria to enter and to fester it just disinfects and helps dry it up.

not supposed to put anything in it.. my sons was on till he was 3 weeks old..
And isn't it so sad how fast time goes when you have a baby?!?!
My doctor told me to leave my son's alone, that it will fall off on its own and not to rush it, and to NOT use alcohol. I wouldn't worry about it. Lol
that cord needs to fall off girly, haha have you been putting alcohol on it at least 3 times a day?
