I have a dilemma. My sister is about to celebrate her 30th birthday. She never does anything for her birthday. I usually do girls trips and parties and she is always there for mine but this year she wants to go to Hawaii. Everyone canceled except one of our younger sisters (19). Only problem is I don't want to be away from my baby for 5 days. At first my husband said no but then he said yes because he understands and I'm the big sister and what not. I don't know what to do. 5 days is a long time to leave my husband with our three kids. I want to have him come bring the baby and stay in the hotel but we are already spending $2500 just for me to go and that's not including spending money. I told him to come with the baby and I will just be there to put her to bed every night and if he has issues but we would have to fly our two oldest round trip to Texas. My baby is exclusively breast fed but by September she will be on baby food and I'm hoping she will take a bottle but no guarantees. My sister doesn't seem like she really wants them to go but understands. What would you do?

get your baby as ready as possible, do all chores and shopping etc for your hubby before you leave, and hope for the best. I think Taking the baby to Hawaii and other's to Texas a lot of drama for you.
oh I c!!! oh wow you are in a tough spot...11 hours is a lot for us let alone baby. 5 hours to California, 5.5 to Hawaii from there. your sister has u in a rock and hard place.
@kandice_stedman86, their flights are already booked I've been waiting because I didn't know if I was going to fly to Dallas first or leave straight from New York. It's a long flight for baby's first flight I didn't realize that until @deeanna pointed it out. It's 11 hours straight through
That's really hard, but honestly id probably not go...maybe next year when my baby was older. that's a lot of extra on your hubby and money too. see if she can make it closer home.
From your profile, it looks like you are on the east coast. If so, that's a really long flight for 5 days. I'd say either extend the trip for a family vacation or tell your sister that while you wish you could go, you can't swing Hawaii due to the baby but you'd love to plan a girls weekend closer to home.
