I feel so bad that Lil man has acid reflex,I feel so bad for him😔

My Son had it SO BAD when he was a newborn. The only thing that helped was putting rice cereal in his bottles to make them thick. Now he does just fine, I think it's just a stage some babies go through worse than others.

that's what I might have to do. his doctor want to do some test before putting him on meds for it@lifeofbnwsmomma

My doctor never put him on medication. She said there was nothing to stop the acid reflux and that the medicine would just stop any discomfort.

my son has it as well. He was prescribed baby zantac he has to take 2x day. It's hard to watch him be in pain.

My doctor never mentioned doing cereal in his bottle or any tests he just concluded from what I told him he was doing that he had reflux. But now he's also on soy. Boy is a mess lol. He was spitting up practically his entire bottle after eating.

My son never showed signs of it bothering him, but he couldn't have plain liquid formula or he would projectile vomit and it was very scary for me! I'm only 19 and he's my first, 7 months and doing amazing now.

I never heard of the test until now, my daughter i just changed her formula, it's scary when it comes up through his month and nose. I hate it@jacesterlingsmommy

They are probably testing for polyric stenosis. It's the we weakening of the muscle at the opening of the stomach. If the muscle is weak and not closing correctly it can cause projectile vomiting and spitting up of most of their milk. My son was diagnosed with GERD and put on Zantac. The Zantac does not stop the vomiting but it will stop the pain of it. The medicine is disgusting and my son hated it. I used to mix it with 1 ounce of apple juice like his pediatrician said. I would also put bananas in his milk to thicken it up. I didn't start cereal till he was a bit older.

o ok that makes sense, I've haven't ever heard of a test, but hopefully they figure out something soon. @guaderrama_babies2

@torrilove14, they make the baby drink while they run a aching that shows them the liquid traveling down the esophagus down to the stomach to see if it's going into the stomach and staying there or not. My son had it done.

ok thank you, I had no clue what was going to be done. I was just told he couldn't drink anything 4 hours before the test was done@guaderrama_babies2

it comes through my son's nose as well. it's scary. especially in the car and he screams. @torrilove14

@jacesterlingsmommy, I would tell my husband it tastes like vodka mixed with mint. I always taste meds before baby gets them. Mixing with the apple juice helped though he would down it no problem.
