oh I'm going to try that... it weirds me out every time I see it. My mom had told me to buy some when he was born so this wouldn't happen ....but I told her the doctor at the hospital didn't say to put anything on it. just to let the umbilical cord fall off by itself.... her response was ay those doctor don't know anything. lol
so am I girl! my mom even called my grandma in Mexico. I got those but didn't quiet help to much. what we did is used a quarter wrapped it in a soft gauze put a little bit of pressure on his belly button and then wrapped him in a Venda and we did that for about 3 weeks I believe. some days just during the day and some just at night. basically when I knew he would cry the most since that when it pops out more. then I saw it started bugging him so I wouldn't have him wear to much and then it just went away
did you put anything on it @luuuuuucyyy ... I'm Hispanic and my mom got super worried she was telling me I need to buy some baby belly bands to make it go down?!?!
that's what happens. i was so scared to but he was seen by a specialist and it already was going down by then. it'll bug them a bit in the beginning when they go poop, cry, just pressure in general and then it's like nothing. definitely mention it to them though so they can keep an eye on him!
thank you ladies! @lacywriter91 @mommyof3andahalf @luuuuuucyyy I'll make sure to let his pediatrician know. It freaked me out when I first saw it. It started sticking out like that last week. It usually goes down once he's relaxed.
that's a herniated belly button. they can take awhile to go away. you do need to let your pediatrician know so they can keep an eye on it, but there's not Much you can do. my friends baby had one and it went away by the time he was 3 years old. sometimes it can take a little time like a few months.
