So just read that if you tested positive for a uti in your pregnancy they don't give you the strep b test they automatically just give you the antibiotic when your in labor

yes tmy Dr said that also there is more chance of bacteria getting in because of pregnancy. idr specifically why tho. I only know this cuz I have kidney problems because of stones, sad to say thats how I know but oh well lxoashl3ylynnxo ol@

@geekymomma13, that's scary! I am shocked I have a bladder infection bc I literally only drink water and I drink a lot but my doc clarified that the placenta doesn't let off the correct amount of insulin sometimes and it causes things like that

Not true. I had a uti with my first child and was still tested for Strep B. It may have changed in 10 yrs. But that was my experience.

lol, sorry bout the confusion. but utis are all the same but location can differ, therefore the antibiotics for one or another may vary in what strength of uti you have. kidney seems by far the worst, they caused my kidneys to not work as efficiently and I got realsick@ sxoashl3ylynnxo

that's not true...i had a uti and they still tested for strep b. if i come up negative then i wont get antibiotics

maybe antibiotics for a utis and strep b are the same or the antibiotics for strep b can rid of strep b and utis. idk just a guess

there are so many different kinds of uti that could be a specific one. it's very common to get a uti in pregnancy

Sometimes you know your body better than everyone else. Not every woman will produce high levels of hcg throughout pregnancy some it can take weeks some it can take months don’t trust a blood test don’t trust a urine test trust your heart and when you know it’s times it’s time this doctor was not a gynecologist so he did not give me a quantitative blood test to actually see what my hcg level is at I hope this helps some of you ladies who just feel like giving up and stop testing because of what everyone else thinks or what a doctor tells you trust your body you know your body better than a blood test and a pee test and god will lead you to the right path

This is the only child I havent had a uti with. Now I do know they said the Strep B test isn't necessary with a c-section bc they give you the antibiotics anyway. But I was checked with all my kids. I only didnt have it with one so far. And no uti this pregnancy.
