Smh I'll be damned if someone made me feel outta place I plan to take my daughter to the salon to get her hair braided. She's Jamaican Puerto Rican Dominican and other stuff. And her hair is so different then mine and grows slow and I want to get her braids so it can help protect and grow her hair. I wanna go to the Africans in NY but not you getting me nervous I don't want my daughter to ever feel outta place

That's just terrible SMH. I remember having to go thru that when I was younger. They didn't make us feel welcome and they fucked up my hair because they didn't know how to do mixed hair.

@alana_sunshine, I don't think the problem was her. I think it was me. The women that worked there just kept giving me dirty looks, and asking me questions like is her father black, and telling me I need to learn to do her hair myself. First of all its no one's business what or who her father is, secondly I pay for her to have her hair done because I don't know how. Then they were telling her how much the braids would hurt and she was hysterical so we just left.

@jmw24815, At this point I would make the trip. She just wanted some braids like this. I had bought the extra hair and everything to be braided in to make them long and she was so excited and I just don't want her to be disappointed again.

Helllll no. I would've raised my voice in that bitch. For one, that's disrespectful as fuck to you for asking all them questions. I would've been like bitch if I knew how, I wouldn't have came here in the first place. And for two, to make my daughter feel uncomfortable, somebody would've gotten slapped! Bless her heart. If you lived here, my best friend would've done it for free considering what happened. She knows how to do that stuff.

honestly, I cannot believe that. people and establishments can be beyond rude and disrespectful. your daughter is just that your daughter she wanted to be treated like a princess and I don't blame her but for them to turn around and be like that is just beyond ridiculous.

@answeredprayer16, I can do simple stuff like ponytails...and ponytails 😂😂😂 We utilize a lot of large flowers and headbands too, but she likes her hair to be braided with beads and all that good stuff and I just don't know how
