Though Pai's second birthday is a little while away, today we got into the discussion of what are plans are. This year we threw a party that only my family (parents, grandparents, and step-grandparents) and a few friends showed up to..NONE of my fiancee's family came. So I was thinking we should do a nice family dinner with cake and ice cream (including my parents and grandparents) and since my daughter now has some friends of her own, doing a little play date with her friends with some treats... Is that unreasonable ? I hate to not include his family but if they're not going to come anyway- why even throw some big party for no one to show ? *fiancee is open to things either way*

@ryans_mommy14, ugh I'm just so sick of people not showing up to stuff that Honestly since were considering not even doing a party just dinner with cake... I was thinking if we get backlash about not inviting them I would respond with "Considering the lack of attendance at P's first birthday party, we decided to save money and not throw one this year and ibstead do something special with her. If you would like to celebrate with her you're welcome to come over and have cake and ice cream with us however we will not be doing some big fancy party."

Yeah none of my family I invited came to Ryan's 1st birthday party either. And This yr idk what to do for Ryan's 2nd birthday. And me and his dad aren't together so it's kinda tough.

That sounds like a good idea. No sense in going crazy with a big party if you know those people aren't going to show up

@ryans_mommy14, ugh I feel your pain.. like Lee and I are together BUT his family creates this "divide" between the families because they feel my parents are rich snobs because they work hard and have nice things though my parents are FAR from snobs.
