Sooooooo who plans on eating their placenta?

it may be, @ariliyahzihmommy3 , but my labor/delivery process got crazy at the end so that was really the last thing on our minds.

you would think that even if we don't vaginally deliver, encapsulating the placenta should still be offered. @kaylabby22

@ariliyahzihmommy3, it typically does. it varies upon who does it though. I would research local Doulas around you or just google placenta encapsulation near you, as I think they can typically encapsulate for you.

@kaylabby22, does it cost to encapsulate it? I had one unplanned csection and my 3rd was scheduled even tho I wanted VBAC so I couldn't do it either way && I wanted a 'Lotus Birth' @vicky810 I can handle guts, blood, severely morbid stuff but when it comes to eating something like a placenta...nope can't do it!🚫🚫🚫

There Isn't any specific research proving benefits, but it's supposed to curb the drastic hormonal changes mom experiences post partum. for some women it helped them avoid Post-partum depression. it can help increase milk supply (or possibly decrease, it depends on you really) . There are lots of anecdotal cases of positivity from it, just nothing specifically scientific proving so. it's just been done for centuries in other cultures :). but just do your research :) you can - idk how exactly, our Doula was going to do it. they just look like little vitamins when done correctly! @vicky810

I was planning on doing placenta encapsulation, but my unplanned c section prevented it :(
