Can someone answer a genetics type question for me please ??? Comment below is so

@wolverinemommy, ok lol Cus I asked last night but didn't get many answers. My question is Is a chin a significant trait on a baby ? My daughter has my kids' dad's chin, my son has a different chin than her & it's not their dads' chin and it's not mine or anyone in my family's either. Is the chin a genetic thing ? He's just 5 days old but it's distinctive to me

Chin structure can be genetic, the best example being cleft chins (a recessive trait) and double chins. These a can occur even if neither parents has that kind of chin, and is expressed in a variety of shapes (less dramatic or more dramatic). If you aren't talking about cleft chins, the same still applies for chin prominence and most facial structures, I believe. Long story short, yes it is genetics related, but it may span back a few generations. But keep in mind that traits are also affected by the environment so that might be a factor too.

@wolverinemommy, yes very ! So even if neither parent has the chin the child's chin can still look a certain way
