Any advice?
Yet again the arsehole boss has gone off again, apparently I can not leave work early, change shift times for midwife appointments because it is unfair on everyone else. I understand if I left it last minute but I have written down the next 3 appointments and scans and handed them to my boss about 5 weeks ago, and yet they still haven't been taken into account when they do the Rotas! How on earth am I meant to book my midwife appointments when the Rotas aren't set and they aren't put up till last minute and surely midwife appointments should be a decent reason as to leave work early if they have forgotten to rota me as off or a early finish!!
Had just about enough of this place!
it's the law they have to let you go to your appointments xx
It's awful it's causing me so much stress I go home and just want to cry most days because it's horrible working here, but with my partner out of work I have to stay otherwise we have no income and can't afford not to work :( xxx
I was with a small company and with them for less than a year it doesnt mean your not allowed to go to midwife or hospital appointments, they have to let you go, I think it's law that they have to let you go. If they don't then tell him you want to see the complaints procedure and put a complaint in about him, to him. If he then makes it even more difficult you could speak to midwife and get signed off or go to citizens advice and ask what you can do xxx
I'd been at my job 3months @sarah2112 when I fell pregnant Lol As the other ladies have said. Legally they have to allow maternity appointments. They're also paid I might add. So it's not a case of asking, it's a case of notifying him when you will be going to appointments. Don't let him bully or guilt trip you.
@sarah2112, dont put up with it nor rise to it. honestly not worth it. i was in hr before and saw it alot through the company and they never learnt and saw loads of ppl walk out and get all they was entitled to but minus the constant shit. like the lady above mentioned go through acas. xx
Will do! Got my partner to contact citizens advice, may even speak to my doctor. I spoke to my midwife about it and she wrote them a letter which ended up me getting shouted at and it thrown in the bin xxx
its against the law hun.. get intouch with ACAS... xx
I haven't been here a year yet so think that's why they're being such twats about it! It's beyond a joke now! My midwife makes my appointments around her not around me and he owns the business so not much higher then him! Xxx
@sarah2112, he cannot stop u. its against the law and he also couldnt have u in for disaplinary or anything like that either due to having time off for these. best thing u cud do was go off with stress and go thru tribunal then ull still get ur wage and maternity allowance and wont have to deal with the cock again xx
He can't stop you going to mw appointments you are legally allowed to leave shift and return after your appointment (that's what my old boss told me)
he can't stop you from going, it's illegal you have a right to go to midwife appointments when they are booked in. I'd go higher and maybes mention it to a bigger boss x
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
Up early still reeling from my last OB appointment. My MIDWIFE tried to force me into a cervical exam and Pap smear. 1) I just met you lady. You are not sticking your fingers inside of me. 2) they are both COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY have been known to cause miscarriages at my stage in pregnancy and offer zero benefits whatsoever. These "abnormal cells" that could show up in them are actually normal during pregnancy and can change throughout. They are invasive, UNNECESSARY and its rude to even ask me...
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
Any advice how many weeks or months I should ask for maternity leave from my boss at work before my due date? I'm due in august idk if its too early to ask for maternity leave
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
They have to let u go and pay u I believe
