HELP!?! any advice on how to get your dog to be comfortable around kids.. I have a white german sheperd that hates kids...she growls and barks but has never bit anyone. she has never been socialized around kids because we don't have any.. now we have a baby on the way and we're worried about how she's going to do with him.

I've heard you can play like baby noises to get them comfortable with the sounds but, I'm not sure if it helps. My dog isn't the friendliest with kids either but, my husband has a daughter with autism and now the baby on the way and we just kind of teach the kids not to mess with her :( which makes me sad but, she's sensitive because she has a fake hip and is just being protective of herself :/ She's been very protective over me though since I've been prego so I'm kind of hoping maybe it'll just be different like she'll protect the kids haha I still don't let kids be around her alone though... I'm hoping to get her trained but, she's like 9 so idk :/
even if you had a cat I would give same advice always watch pets around newborns cats are known for covering a newborn s mouth because,of the babymilk smell.. dogs don't mind being crated it's their wolves instincts, ,but,they have to be used to it from puppies, I've had dogs where u can leave the cage door open and tell them to go inside and they will stay in there until you tell them to come out. ..some dogs don't like men, some don't even like other dogs. white German shepherd s are beautiful,I've only groomed 2 ... they can skittish ,but,they aren't aggressive

i watch her and she scares me. I can't even have her around kids when I'm babysitting. I don't know if they scare her or what it is.. so I keep her crated. but I don't want to have to keep her crated her entire life. I want to be able to adjust the behavior.
be safe and never leave them alone,I'm a Professional Pet Groomer of 18,yrs ,regardless of the breed especially if they aren't familiar with small children,babies, kids at all ,must always be watched.When the baby is born give your pet something with his/her scent on it so your dog can get used to it before the baby is home from the hospital
I always wanted my children to be atleast a year apart .. My kids are 17 months apart .. but I never knew how hard it would be trying to get my son to adjust to having a baby around.. he's not use to being around other kids because we don't have small kids his age in our family ... 😞 any advice on trying to get him to adjust to having a little sister would help.
Any mothers on here who's SO has a kid with someone else and the girl is ALWAYS around his family because they invite her everywhere and they are close with her???? If so how do you handle it???? If you don't have that issue.. What if you did?? How would you feel????
need suggestions.... So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.

Advice please ? Long story... I'm getting married in April we decided no kids other than our own two and my niece And nephew as would end up more kids that adults and it would Cost so much more plus wanted parents to have a day/night to enjoy themselves. Anyway my "maid of honor" ( hasn't done much to help but cause me stress) has 5 kids her youngest will be around 5 months old she's breastfeeding him and keeps telling me she is gonna try and express ect... but I know she has no intentions of doing that and I worry she's gonna put me on the spot the day before and say he won't take a bottle (cos she wouldn't have tried) so she either can't come or has to bring him. I'm spending a lot of money for her dress, hair make up food ect... so deffo don't wanna be let down. But it's not just her that's got kids the ushers have kids and we said no kids. Now I know it's different as she's feeding him but I dunno what to do!? Do I say she can bring him (if my oh agrees too) or do I say she can't. This all sounds so awful when I read it but there will be two other guests that will have newer baby's than that coming and they arnt bringing them. The biggest thing is she's just not talking to me about any of this she's ignoring my messages and not making contact with me. But she's spoken to a friend about it who told her to talk to me and be honest about it all! Torn tbh as she's already not coming on my hen but still hasn't told me this!!! If she just came to me and said look I'm feeding my baby I don't wanna bottle feed him so either he comes or I can't I'd be happier she's being honest rather than dragging it out making out she gonna try and express. I don't expect her to I said it's down to her it's her baby. May I add that we fell out a while ago as she wasn't bothering with me ect any way we made up and I asked her be part of the wedding again so she could have said then I can but il have a baby then, but she didn't she just said it will be fine il sort out. So stressed ?

I play baby sounds and she looks at Me like I'm crazy lol . I'm gonna try muzzling her and have some kids sit in the living room . and see if something comes out of it.
