With my third baby I was in labor for 11hours and 9cm before I got the epidural, I had him 1hr after I got it. I was also on pitocin with him. It was the worst pain I had ever felt in my life.... I almost blacked out. With my fourth, my labor moved so fast that the anesthesiologist almost took too long. I was 10cm before I got the epidural and had him 15 mins later...

You can move afterwards. You probably won't be able to without the epidural bc you'll be so exhausted from all the pain and probably still in pain. I got it at a 4 and I'm glad I did

I'm assuming you'll get it at a 4 or 5 that's when the pain really starts kicking in. For me anyways.

@mrsnewman10511, my first & second baby I got it at 5cm. My first her labor was 22hrs I had to be induced for high blood pressure at 36 weeks so I'm glad I got hers done early because that's a long time to be in pain. My second her labor was 5 hours, I probably could have done it without with her. My third I do regret getting so far and giving in. Adding the pitocin only made the pain 10x worse . It was cool because I could actually feel him moving lower and lower, so when I had a contraction I would know when to push down. But I'm not gonna lie, that hour with the epidural was life 😂 my fourth, I DID not want to do it without an epidural. My previous experience terrified me. I ended up doing it again, simply because he moved so fast. My recovery from my third was the worst, my whole body was sore for like two weeks. I stressed my body out so bad during his labor. My fifth is due in 5-6 weeks, I'll be getting the epidural lol

you just have to breath through it. move your body around to wiggle through the pain lol.. if you labor at home for the most part it doesn't feel as long as being in the hospital. If youre half way through and can't take the pain might as well get it then. that way you can rest and regain energy for whwn it's time to push. if your already passed a 7 or 8 then just stick it out. as soon as baby is out trust me you'll feel like you csn do it all over again. the pain is bad but we're meant to do it!
