Can someone please explain to me how the epidural works? I have tried to read it up or ask but I do not understand what they are saying, do they leave the needle in your back? Does it hurt?
@sweetmami391, thank you so much for explaining it to me, I don't like pain and that's what I wanted to know if they leave the needle in, the pain you feel, staying still Lord has to help me on that one, lol, my last flat mate complained all through at the hospital that she was in intense pain despite getting the epidural I don't know so I got scared
I had it with my first kid.
it wasn't as bad as every thinks
a pinch real fast And it's over !!
then you lay back and relax.
it does not mean you won't feel lots of pressure when it comes to push but it Def helped me from the pain
just think about the epidural because they do make you sign a waver that if the anesthesiologist makes a mistake or hits a nerve that you won't sue. my back and right leg are messed up because the last one I had hit a nerve that sent an electrical feeling into my spine and right leg. they called it a hot spot where only a certain area of your body isn't getting the medicine from the epidural
I just heard it feels like pressure in your back, no pain. There's a video on YouTube if you wanna watch it. That's what I did. I thought they left it in your back too until I watched the video. It made me less nervous after watching it. The catheter is so if you need more medicine you can push it the whole time you're in labor :) @izabeli
