It can happen to the most alert parents. I'm always alert and aware but I have almost forgotten my 3 yr old. I wasn't going into Walmart or a big place. I needed gas and I went into autopilot.

@mama_bear13-16, I can understand that. My kids are just super noisy in the car as they argue with each other or talk my head off so it's hard for me to go into that mode.

Haha I wish my 3 yr old would but he just likes to stare out the window. Now I always put the diaper bag, also my purse in the back seat and started giving him my phone to watch video and play games on.

I have those too but where do you think is the best place to put it? I'm a ftm

I really don't understand or believe you can just 'forget' a child in the car. You see a car seat, you know you didn't take the child out..like how is that possible. I just had my 3rd and I never once forgot my children...smh it's so unfortunate
