I'm in such a predicament 😏 so my whole life I've had at least one dog, and so has my husband. His grandparents bought us our sweet Bosley (he was a rescue pup and 3 weeks old when we got him. I fed him the bottle put him in diapers.. He was my baby). They gave him to us as a wedding present back in 2011. Shortly after we got him we found out that I was pregnant, so Bosley kind of "grew up" with our babies. I'm crying typing this lol I am so pathetic.. In 2014 while our 3rd born was still in the NICU Bosley (he was 3 years old) was attacked by a mountain lion, and killed. We saw a trail of blood, and found him buried in leaves under a tree while driving up the driveway coming home from the hospital after visiting our son. The mountain lion population got pretty high where we were living, so we decided to move and bought a house in the suburbs so we don't have to deal with the fear of being attacked. My older two were begging for a puppy again. We tried getting another dog last year, but she was sooo hyper and bit my kids, so we gave her back. Now my kids are at it again with begging for a doggy, and I just don't know what to do 😕 I've written out the pros and cons of having another dog, and they weigh in even. What do you guys think? And what breed of dog do you suggest for a family full of kids? Bosley was a beagle, and perfect, but I don't think I can have another beagle because it'll remind me too much of Boss. Daisy (the dog we got last year) was a lab, and not a good fit.. We actually had a lab named roscoe we had to rehome back in 2012.. We don't have any luck with labs.
I'd really suggest going to adopt. you can meet tons of dogs and even take your littles to meet and see if they all mesh.
@carlitojrmami, welcome to life with my husband LOL. He is impossible to please. Seriously I was about to divorce him when we were buying a house lol (not really) but man he made the process so much harder because he had SO much impossible criteria. Same with names for our babies, dogs, cats, anything! Haha. I'll do some research on those dogs.
@carlitojrmami, getting my husband to agree to one of those dogs would be impossible LOL. Part of the reason why this is such a predicament for me. He wants a big dog that's not hyper and pretty much will potty train itself good with kids but likes to be active.. I just don't think a dog like that exists.
@carlitojrmami, I just don't know what to look up. All of my criteria comes up with labs but we don't do labs lol.
@evasmommy626, pit bulls are illegal in my City I'm pretty sure 😏 our friends Live in the country and have pit bulls and they are so sweet.
@kambam, I was actually strongly considering adopting an older dog. Thanks!
