Hey ladies. What are your suggestions for back pain? Specifically upper back, right under the shoulder blades. I've woken up every morning for the past three weeks with excruciating pain and no way to ease it, other than to lie flat on my back on a hard floor, which I hate to do because of Baby Girl. I'm considering finally buying a pregnancy pillow, but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Is it the muscle under your shoulder? I have that too from overworking my arms. I have to ice it, Ice tends to be the only thing I can find to help with the pain.

I'm not really sure... my boyfriend used to crack my back regularly because I tend to hurt it and that relieved it a lot. But he's terrified to do it now that I'm pregnant, and unfortunately, I don't have the moolah to go to a professional. It's usually the muscle under my right shoulder blade, maybe 2-3 inches below it?

It could be the way you sleep or it could be from the increased weight on your chest. Try wearing a sports bra and see if it helps :)

Thanks, @angelao777, I'll try that! I really think it's our "new" bed. It's in fantastic shape for how old it is, but my bf's grandma just gave it to us and it's one of those super old spring mattresses. I feel like I need some more support under my back.

this is what helps me: lay on the floor with belly btw your legs and legs folded, then stretch your arms on the floor. prenatal massage once in a while, and stretching. I know how uncomfortable it can be. mine radiates to my neck and then gives me headaches!!

I prop pillows under my back. My husband likes firm mattresses but my back can't deal. Eggshells ( the bed too kind) help too. Mattresses can definitely do it though!

I will definitely try that @delores93. I've never been able to crack my back myself, but maybe if I start stretching more often I'll be able to keep it under control. Thanks!

I'll try that too. I read that folding up a towel longways and putting it under your lower back, where your spine droops the most, can help. @angelao777

That's a good idea too! I'm gonna try that because I have sciatica

Yep! It sounds like exactly what I have! Sleeping on it weird makes it worse, and Tylenol doesn't help with the pain at all. It's like super awful, but again the best relief for it is ice.

Alright, thank ya ladies! I took a nap earlier and surprisingly woke up with minimal pain. So thank you tons for your help. @angelao777 @sashleythomp
