how do contractions feel?

my sister said she didnt get a catheter and she got a epidural. @emkasting

If you get an epidural you get a catheter and with a c section. I ended up getting an epidural and still felt the catheter. That was by far the worst part of labor for me because even before getting the epidural my contractions were completely painless

I'm not sure. I know if you get an epidural you'll get one because you can't get out of bed once you get it. Or if you have a c section you'll get one. A catheter was the very least of my concerns. Like I said I had no idea they even put mine in until it was done. Even when my 1st epidural wore off and I felt contractions and my legs I still didn't even notice it in there. Everyone's experience is different but mine was completely painless, even removal. Yes cervix checks are just like when they do it at the drs office.

Yes those cervix checks when I was in active labor and no epidural was the worst pain ever. I begged the nurse to stop. my catheter didn't hurt at all, didn't even know I had it put in but I had already gotten my epidural by then.

For me personally the most painful thing for me were just the cervix checks & getting a catheter. I had a virtually painless labor

The iv was worse than the epidural and I had to get 2 epis. lol

No I couldn't do it. 3 hours into pitocin and I asked for an epidural. I felt great afterwards. I was scared of it too but honestly it didn't hurt. The contractions take your mind off what they're doing and by that point you're just begging them to hurry up and get it done. My 1st epidural fell out and I was without one from 7-9 cm and I thought I was dying. I got a 2nd epidural pretty much for pushing and was in heaven lol. I was playing on my phone until the dr showed up while the baby is just sitting right there crowing. Plus I didn't want to tear or get stitches without an epi. It's really not that bad. I had worked myself up way more than I should have. They give you a numbing shot first and that was more painful than the actual epi needle but seriously it wasn't bad at all. I'd definitely get another one again.

It was the worst pain. I can't even compare it to period cramps. It was an all over belly pain that came and went every few minutes but the pain never went away completely between contractions it just got more bearable. I was freaking out hurting bad but remember to breathe. I was crying and they just kept telling me to breathe and it really did help.

I never felt any pain but it felt like a tightening sensation
