How does supplementing work? I've always breast fed my daughter but the hospital gave me some samples to use if I felt like she wasn't latching well her first week home because I was having trouble breastfeeding. I never used those samples. Lately my daughter has been very fussy and gassy. The only way she knows how to soothe herself is to nurse and she's nursed so much these past two days I'm literally left with nothing. I'm being drained physically and emotionally. Would it be okay to use those samples to know that her belly is full? I just want her to be happy. She's been screaming bloody murder all day and I need to know she's got a full belly.
I didn't know Gerber had a breastfeeding supplement. lol I have Similac Advance and it works great for my daughter. She doesn't have gas problems though so hopefully you find a brand that's helps with that. Also, I totally stand by Tommee Tippee bottles for breastfeeding. I know every baby is different when it comes to what works for them but I love them and so does my daughter and they come in cute colors too. 😊
Thanks @emkasting !! How often and how much do you give O of the supplement?
I have to supplement with formula because I just don't make enough milk to keep up with what Oakley eats. Gerber goodstart makes a formula that's specifically made for supplementing
Thank you! @mommy_of_02 That's the one I usually have her Grammy use if she babysits and I have breast milk saved up :)
What breastfeeding bottles do you suggest? I have a Tommie Tippee and a Dr. Browns with the vent system. @mommy_of_02
Since she's fussy I would give her the gentle ease in the purple can because you never know if it's gas. While she's getting full she'll also be treated for gas. And just make sure to use a breastfeeding bottle so later on she'll be ready to latch again.
She will be 7 weeks on Wednesday @crunchymomma and she's been cluster feeding her whole life lol
could your daughter be cluster feeding? your profile says she's 1 month old so she should be due for a growth spurt.
It really depends on the brand you have and a little bit of formula shouldn't cause to much of a problem. What are the kinds you have?
I have no milk saved up because I had to use it when I had literally nothing left. I'm trying to drink crazy amounts of water and I'm about to eat oatmeal and I've been taking Fenugreek. She's just nursing so much I don't have any milk and she's so hungry :( I'm afraid her tummy will hurt worse if I give her formula. @isabellesmomma212
Thank you @isabellesmomma212 !! I like the Similac Advance too and so did Maddy
