I'd get both. The crib for sleeping, and the playpen for when you're trying to clean up or something and cant keep baby in sight.

A pack n play would be nice for summer days where you don't want baby on the ground or once the little one gets a little older and any weekend getaways/vacations, easy to go with you and safe place for baby.

@babes101116, I don't really plan on taking him anywhere that he would need it though, I don't trust mine or my boyfriends parents!

Good thing about a pack and play is you can pack it up and take it with you anywhere
