so my baby girl is a week old and im producing milk but my breast get sore and she is not getting enough.vhow long does it take for milk to come in fully. many ppl have told me that i should be seeing streams of milk come out of my breast instead of trickles. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP

If it's your nipples in particular that are painful, check her latch and make sure that her lips kind of splayed outwards, not pursed inwards. You could also try a nipple shield. Also, WIC offers free breastfeeding consultations in my area, they might in yours as well.

Have you checked her latch? Your nipples should not hurt from nursing. Are they cracked?
@lilkountryma, yes ma'am i am massaging hubby even bought the hot compress and they are still sore and hurt. i really try to let her feed as long as she want but the last few days my nipples have been hurting so bad i want to cry amd scream
Don't pull her off. Let her feed for as long as she wants mama. Some babies take longer than others. Are you massaging your breasts? The pain could be from ducts that are starting to clog. The more you nurse your production will pick up and the stream thing isn't true. mine comes out in drops not streams and I have a healthy supply. Yes oatmeal cookies count. You can even make your own lactation cookies for really cheap and its super easy. If she has at least 5 wet diapers and is pooping than shes getting enough. Breastfed babies can go 3-4 days without pooping

Does she have any poopy diapers? Cause that still means she's getting something. Also your diet is a big factor as well. Oatmeal is great for breastfeeding, so is Greek yogurt, LOTS of water, and veggies especially.
