Was hoping to have baby at a midwife-led unit but as they have heard that baby has an ectopic beat (heartbeat "missing" every 7-9 beats) I now have to go to the hospital. Has anyone else had experience with ectopic beats? Can I still have a water birth?
@emma23g, that's true. I guess we can plan as much as we want but baby and the doctors have the final say. You're right, at least they're doing the best for us and baby so better to be there to be on the safe side
@cupcake107, I had a perfect pregnancy but the only thing I had was group b strep which meant I had to have my daughter in the delivery suite. I wanted a water birth but couldn't because of something that happened when I went into labour 🙈 just expect the unexpected. I'd rather her be safe which she was 😊
I'm slowly realising that... I have been told that you have to have a perfect pregnancy with absolutely nothing wrong to go to a midwife led unit and it makes sense now that whenever we've been there seems to be no one delivering there
One thing I have realised over the years I've had children is expect the unexpected. This pregnancy was all set to be less invasive till I got a high bile acid level this week and may have OC so nothing will be as I wanted at all
Thank you @suzie80 I thought that might be the case. Was a bit of a shock as I'd had my heart set on a water birth at the midwife-led unit so upset to change two of my major plans...
@cupcake107, We all have a plan in our head but sometimes baby has a different idea. I got prepped for a c-section but luckily I delivered her myself ☺️😃 it's better that your baby is safe 😊
