My dad wants me to go after child support from my 2 year old's bio dad. Idk. I just don't know.
I had a one night stand with him and a couple weeks later met my ex and we really hit it off. Found out I was pregnant, and told him the truth, and told him he had every reason to bail. But he chose to stay. He took care of me while I was pregnant and signed the birth certificate and took care of her and THAT is her daddy. No matter what. I even tried giving the bio dad a chance to be a part of her life when she was a year old, and he was very happy about it. Until he knocked up his new gf and she put things in his head telling him she's not really his.
What do you think? Me and her father (my ex) are under investigation cause of lies that were told to DFCS and I can't work and I need money coming in and this is how my dad wants me to do it. I just have no idea. I'm getting ready right now for my meeting with my DFCS case worker.

all you need a is a DNA test to prove he's the dad and put his ass on child support. you need money and so does that baby

I honestly don't think that you can go for child support from her bio dad since your ex signed her baby certificate. You'd have to get child support from him, even though he's not her bio dad. He signed up for all of that when he signed the certificate.

It varies by state I believe, but since he signed knowing he wasn't the bio dad, he basically signed up for the chance for you to put him on child support.

In a lot of states signing the birth certificate doesn't necessarily mean that it is paternity acknowledgment . The child's father is still going to have to take a DNA test. Now if the bio dad signed over his rights or your BF adopted your child, that's a different story .

It's about your daughter, no matter who signed the birth certificate the biological dad will still have to pay Child support. The easiest way is just calling and making an appointment with you local DCSS office. It's not for you it's for her if you choose to go after him. I know women who have chosen not to especially if he didn't want to be bothered and women who did.

well if you want your ex to pay child support you can do that cuz he signed the certificate. but if you want the bio dad to pay than you'll have to go to a judge and do a DNA paternity test. and then the bio dad will have to pay. its really up to you where you want the child support to come from

Just because your ex signed the birth certificate doesn't mean anything you can still get child support from her bio dad after a Dna test. Just because someone signed a birth certificate doesn't even give them rights to the child unless y'all are married signing it doesn't mean anything honestly

If your ex signed that form in the hospital, he has to pay child support.
