Has anyone else ever have their cervix checked and loose mucus plug after? I had three big chunks of bloody clumps come out after last night and she was very rough and it was painful. I know it's typical to have some blood and I've had the normal stuff after my usual appointments but then I had lost these big bloody pieces. Just wondering if anyone had the same. I guess it could just be from the check I just noticed it was different then the last couple times.

Just by the way you are describing it I would say you got your membranes swept, I thought it was really painful too. Most doctors will inform you but I've seen a couple ladies on here say their doc's did it without telling them so it's still a possibility. I would call and ask if you're concerned or even just curious, but it's super normal to lose your plug after having a membrane sweep done
@emkasting, see I honestly don't know because she didn't even tell me.... all I know is it was really painful. I read though from some other moms on a article online that they were not told and had the same thing. I'm wondering if she did but I also was not informed she did or didn't do a sweep.
it could have been the check, or as @emkasting said maybe she stripped your membranes
I have an appointment today so I will just ask there @sarahdrew we have just had a lot of weird stuff happening. I had discharge that created a puddle on the floor. It was just very unusual and being a first time mom it's like "is this it? is this not it?" i thought maybe the rough cervix check could have caused it to loosen possibly.
Was it just a cervix check or did she strip your membranes? It sounds like she did a strip to me, I lost my mucus plug two days after getting a membrane sweep
if you are 100% sure it was your mucus plug and it had blood in it, I would call the dr office this morning and let them know, this is just my opinion as I only lost part of my plug with my last pregnancy (I had 2 c-sections and my first was at 32 weeks 4 days so I hadn't lost any of it)

I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.

I'm glad to help! I understand though, there were plenty of times during my pregnancy that I left the doctor confused about things. I knew I was getting a membrane sweep only because I was already a week overdue and my midwife set up an appointment specifically for it. That shit hurt though 😖 haha.
