Well not wrong with baby led weaning actually some start with regular food rather than baby food just make sure gets a variety. my son is about to be 8 months i least give him something off my plate get used to eating regular food(hates most of it)

I started feeding my son with spoon at 4 months started with cereal and breastmilk. Maybe try letting her play with it first to get used to it. My son actually crawls around with his spoon after he is done eating(not worth the tantrum) I always act like im eating it first if its veggies he refuses those but fruits taste sweet maybe start with those
