I learned to not ask him to help because it always led to a disappointment and fight. We never fight now about who does what for our son or anything in general.

lol, if my husband didn't help I wouldn't be here. not gonna lie, I've already shown him how crazy I am, but the love he has for his son is what makes him help with him. I don't have to force him to help with our child and he helps me clean up sometimes as well. why would I wanna stay in a house with a giant child who doesn't do anything and an actual child who is helpless when I could go stay at my mom's and have huge amounts of help with my son or help around the house? that's the question you need to ask yourself, and you need to wake his ass up cause if he isn't gonna help with anything, whether he's the breadwinner or not, he's useless to you.

But rememeber, at a week old, he may not know how to help with the baby. engage him in whatever you're doing with your child and if you need help around the house or you're exhausted and need sleep, ask him to watch the baby
