@gypsy.soul2 my supply is in now, so I'm able to pump almost what she needs in a feeding. when I'm actually able to pump, that is. her formula just gives her lots of tummy trouble and I'm afraid to add on to it.

I actually talked to my doctor today about switching to formula and breast milk, I did the same with my newborn and was nervous that it will mess up his tummy and she told me it wouldn't the only way his stomach will get upset is if he doesn't like the formula, but they told me they recommend I breast feed and use the formula for emergencies like if I wasn't pumping enough milk or I ran out of my own milk and my son was hungry at the moment.

@katarama if you're supplementing and Isabella (belle?) is having issues then it may be from te iron in the formula.. babies tummies can't break iron down well.

however trust your body that it'll make enough.. remember her tummy is VERY small. honestly the first like week .5 to 1.5oz is a full belly

@gypsy.soul2 we usually do about 2oz, sometimes she'll only take 1 or 1.5oz and sometimes she'll take it all. I've made 3 bottles of breast milk today, though, compared to yesterday's one, so as long as I'm able to continue pumping hopefully she won't need formula nearly as much!!
