How do you guys find time to pump with a newborn? I can't breastfeed; my nipples are flat and she just refuses to latch. We try everyday and it's just frustrating for all of us. I would like to eventually be able to just go back to breast milk though, but finding time to pump seems impossible! The formula she's on hurts her belly and she spits up while she sleeps so I can't do anything while she's sleeping, and when David has her, I sleep, so nothing is really getting done at all.

Have you tried nipple shields and see if she'll latch on with that.

I didn't for the first week or so. If my LO was asleep for an hour, then I'd try to squeeze in a pump. Then when he started sleeping for longer stretches, I tried to pump more often. I'm also EBF right now, so I can time it better. If you can, try to pump while your SO feeds her, just to get some production going. 😊

@babynessa I tried several different kinds and my nipples are too flat for them so they just make it worse, unfortunately. 😕

Have you tried pumping on one breast shortly before you latch her so it pulls your nipple out?

What formula are you giving her? My sons old formula used to constipate him really bad so I switched him to soy based formula and it works out so much better.

pumping is frustrating if you hand pump. I didn't have an electric pump. and my daughter wouldn't latch on. we tried everything it got so bad I got mastitis in one breast and after it cleared up that breast hardly made anything so I gave up on breastfeeding. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. I know how it feels.
