Don't remove it. Let it fall off. You could do damage by removing it yourself.

I did what the doctors recommended and didn't wash it with the alcohol wipes. I let it be. At 5 days old hers fell off. It looked open and sticky still so I freaked out and called the ER. If you do the alcohol swabs to clean it then it takes anywhere from 1-3 weeks, I believe.

@s_r_z_15, I didn't do anything on it an it took her about a week an half to fall off.

I wouldn't mess with it or put any thing on it. You can do alcohol swabs after it falls off just to clean it up. It may be bloody and look gross when it falls off & that's normal. I think my kids both fell off at about a week old.

just wait till it falls on its own it takes like a week to 2 weeks till it falls off

My sons fell off when he was sleeping. My daughters fell off when I was changing her clothes it was hanging on by like a tiny thread and when I put her onesie on it moved it just enough to fall off. It's gross lol
