LADIES: Did you and your significant other ever argue about who is going to chose the babies name? I'm due next month and we still have not compromised on a name. How can I get him to go with the name I want?

@ladysix, originally he wanted to name her Samaya, but I had still wanted to do Brooklyn. Her name will most likely be Brooklyn Samaya Sow or Brooklyn Kadelle Sow. I've pretty much made up my mind. I just try to avoid the name conversation as much as I can.

Oh I love Brooklyn. My thing with his choices was I wanted our child to have her own identity; he wanted grandparents' names as well but they are already dead. Not to sound unsympathetic, but my argument to him was how unique will she feel having a name to make others nostalgic but having no memory or relationship with her namesake?
I like Brooklyn too... Let him do the middle name if he gets pissed then shit do the full name your self... I mean that name is life

@yogabump, yes that's my exact situation. He's African and Wants to make her after his grandmother. He doesn't even mention his grandmother barely. Her name is Kadelle idk the spelling I'm not going to ask him bc I don't want to seem interested
We ran through a list of first names... I liked one & he was apprehensive at first but he did end up liking it & he picked the middle name

My boyfriend wants him to be a junior, I really want him to be named something else though.
He wanted all the "named after someone in the family" names and I wanted all the classic lit names. We ended up having to throw every one of them in the trash and choosing together from a "neutral name pool"
You'll have to keep going through names until you BOTH agree on a name. Remember this is his kid too
