I had a ultrasound and they took all the measurements... Tell your doctor you want to have a ultra sound done

I'm the same way. I'm 34 weeks and last week they said she weighed 6lbs 14 oz and never mentioned inducing me...I'm like I'd love to push but if she's a ten pound baby she may not fit!

Don't get stuck on what they think your baby weighs, dear. It's all estimates based on ultrasound measurements that can change just depending on the tech doing the scan. I'm on number 3, and with my last baby they told me she was measuring 8lb+. Almost 3 weeks later the little sucker literally came flying out (I have ridiculously precipitous labors) at 6lb 3oz. You DO NOT want to be induced because the meds they use make your contractions a million times more painful but much less effective. Honestly, trying the "natural" self-induction measures is safer for you and baby, and will work with your body instead of against it. Start walking and if you can handle it do squats. Practice breathing to relax (relaxing actually helps your cervix begin to open and soften). Also, getting busy is a truly proven method of getting things moving. Don't let your doctors scare you. Our country has one of the highest levels of maternal mortality (moms dying) among first-world countries. This is because doctors panic patients and push c-sections and inductions. An induced labor is much more likely to end in an emergency c-section which puts you both at risk. I don't mean to sound preachy, but my first delivery was a disaster, my second only went well because I'd researched the he!! out of how to make it go better and my doctor (who is AMAZING) just happened to be the one on duty and told the idiots to back off and let me push (I wasn't even checked in to the hospital yet). Are you delivering at Albany Med or St.Peter's?

they check babies weight by ultrasound but in my experience they were always off, it's just an estimate. Dr knows best even though I know it sucks because you are ready

How did they find out how much your baby weighs? I've been wanting to know and they told me there really wasn't a way for them to know without a ultrasound :(
