how many moms went overdue with your first?
haha no it's actually the contrary. there's a lot fear and hype of the dangers to going over 42 weeks, it's the doctors and pharmaceutical + insurance companies that feed into this. the fear is your baby will be stillborn, which is not likely to happen, and that the amniotic fluid begins to drop, much more likely but that is why water intake is so important in the third trimester- staying thoroughly hydrated eliminates a whole potential of risks and complications that could arise in labor and also makes for an easy birth. a long time ago it was common to carry a pregnancy through till 43 to even 50 weeks, in other countries you can still see that. there areh studies too that prove a prolonged pregnancy makes for a healthier, smarter, and stronger baby. unfortunately in America they don't allow to go over that 'limit' you can convince them but it's rare, even with a midwife legally they are required to transfer their care for you over to hospital if you have reached the 42 mark and have not started labor. anyway it really comes down to your body, I had a healthy intervention-free pregnancy and I listened to my body, as long as there is continued fetal movement and you are keeping up with your water intake there's no problem with going over 42 weeks.
isnt it damgerous for them to go that long? how the heck did you do it?!?! omg @loveless
my baby came to this world in her own time and that was 45weeks(embryonic) 47weeks(gestational)
oh and the notion that your baby will be bigger or huge is a lie. my baby girl was tiny at birth like 6lbs
