smh what does having 'low income" or being "African American " have to do with going into pre term labor? ??

??????October 2018 babies?????? Congratulations to everyone who have received their bfp!
You know you have children when... You get to work and notice that your pants have smudges of unidentifiable origin from the knee down. ?
School fees Having an intense debate on Facebook about school fees for public school. I'm in the "stop whining about school fees and stop having kids if you can't afford them" camp and there is the other camp of "free school is a constitutional right! It's bull s*** we have to pay anything at all".
We all have a different definition of “clean”🤢

the low income part is because of nutrition and also accessibility to proper Healthcare....hispanics are also supposedly in the same boat... of course it's not always true and probably should be worded differently...

I googled it & it said African Americans had the highest rate of preterm labor. so its probably just being statistical. there is no reasoning behind it, just says highest rate of preterm labor.

I think the low income could possibly mean momma not getting proper nutrition and treatment during pregnancy due to not being able to afford it ? And African Americans may have a higher rate of preterm labour (I haven't researched for myself so I wouldn't know) just like we have a higher rates of diabetes and sickle cell.. I don't think it was meant to be offensive lol

Unless African American women have genetically altered/weakened/smaller uteruses, I don't understand why they would list that. I can see the low income being an issue because of the stress factors (as stated above) but not ethnicity. On somewhat of the same note, I've been told that African American babies do better in the nicu than Caucasian babies. I don't know how or why, but that's what I've heard.

I have no clue.. It really is insulting beyond.. doesn't matter what skin color you are there's always a chance anyone could go into pre term labor they shouldn't have added those last two @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom

right I'd go back up there and be pissed and call them out..it's wrong on so many levels people are justifying the "low income part but not the other @bebefever94

That's actually really insulting... But it's my guess that it means those groups have less chances to see a doctor regularly and have "worse" prenatal care?!? I have no idea really. You can literally do everything right and still go into preterm labor.
