My 8 month old still wakes up to "eat" at night which I think he's not even hungry he just wakes up bug hes so use to his dad putting a bottle in his mouth so he goes back to sleep and I tell him we cannot keep doing that. He thinks he's hungry I think he isn't because he eats a 6oz during the day but when I use to give him that much at night he wouldn't even drink it. He would drink 2oz of it so I cut it to 4oz and he doesn't finish it sometimes. What can I do to get him to sleep during the night?

my daughter was like this around the same age...we just stopped the night feeding and I would rock her back to sleep with her binky. eventually she started not waking up...that is until she started teething but that's another problem lol.

@eskawho Oh yeah he wakes up cause of his teeth too but his dad will still put a bottle together. he just hates to hear him cry cause he gets up early for work. He already has 2 teeth but 2nd one is just cutting through. I'll try to not feed him tonight and see how it goes.

I always gave my daughter and extra ounce or 2 before bed and that seemed to help...it may take him a few days to get used to it. yes teething is the worst...she got 7 in with in 2 months then when she finally started feeling better...4 back ones are coming in lol.

He's probably waking up from the discomfort of teething. Have you tried a pacifier or a cold teething toy he can suck on? Might just be the sucking motion he wants rather than the actual food. Our pediatrician told us sucking is a baby's way of soothing themselves.

@tiffany_sanft he sleeps with a pacifier and we use origel everynight for him. He doesn't like teething toys or anything. Its been like this since he was 6 months.

Hmm.. Have you tried asking your pediatrician about it? That definitely sounds stressful 😕

@tiffany_sanft i think hes just so use to us putting a bottle in his mouth as soon as he cries at night.
