I think there are good reasons to avoid an epidural, plus whenever I think too hard about something GOING IN MY SPINE I get dizzy. But, I'm a huge wimp when it comes to pain :/ Idk what to do about this decision.
Personally, the epidural didn't hurt for me. It was just uncomfortable. And my husband sat in front of me and kept me focused on him, so I really didn't even notice it.
There are pros and cons. They put in during a contraction I didn't feel the procedure years ago. Whatever you do, it's your best decision. Don't let blogs, people, new articles, or internet bring you down over your decision! You're just as good as the rest. This time around, I want to labor naturally as much as possible. I didn't feel a thing with my first. I kinda feel robbed of the experience. :/ but that's my personal regret. Who knows what I will be screaming for when I go into labor though. Just go into it with an open mind!
I had my mind set that I wouldn't get one but since complications came I had to get one. Honestly you don't feel a thing. Your so focused on contractions that you don't feel a thing. My husband talked to me when I had it and I didn't even know they started and finished it was so fast and painless.
yeah there are pros and con's to it, I had to get it because I was a scheduled c section, some people react differently to it of course, but I haven't had any problems with my back since then, its been 6 months
I'm gonna hold out as long as I can with no epidural. I've never had one with my first 2. so I'm not looking forward to getting one, But if it gets to intense I hope I'm not to afraid to get ask for some relief. I'm that type if person that won't ask lol.
I'm scared to get the epidural, and haven't with my other two but I'm still scared of the labor pains. but the way I think of it is, deal with pain that's only tempary or deal with the sides effects that come with the epidural that will/can last the rest of my life.... I'll deal with labor pains lol.
