Finding out that you’re pregnant can be the happiest or scariest moment of your life. But whatever you’re feeling, it’s important to take a deep breath and acknowledge the fact that it’s completely normal. Whether it be doubt, shock, or nervousness, it’s definitely comforting to know that you’re not the only one going through it. “I was completely shocked. Totally scared and shaking. Being 19 and graduating high school just a month before and getting ready to go to college, I was petrified. I wasn't ready to be a mom and I wasn't ready to tell my mom she was going to be a grandmother at just 40 years old. I didn't know what to think except what am I going to do now? Well, I put school off for a while and focused on preparing myself for what I knew would be a bumpy road ahead. When I finally told my family they were all surprisingly supportive. My boyfriend was beyond excited to be a dad. I was the only one that was a little taken back, scared, and honestly a little disappointed. I always wanted kids - that was no question, however I never thought I'd have them this young. My dream was to have a career and a house before I had my first little one. I wanted to be able to give her everything she could ever want and need and I feared that because I was so young, none of that would be possible. Now that she's four months old, I couldn't picture my life without her. She is the center of my whole world and the reason for my happiness. Watching all my friends go out and party doesn't bother me like I thought it would because I get to watch my little girl grow and learn every day. I wouldn't give that up for the world. It’s not going to be easy but I will still accomplish my goals and I will do it for her. To give her a better life. She is my motivation. There's nothing better than being her mom.”

“I panted and paced back and forth before I told my husband because we had been trying for over a year and I was in denial the first 2 months until I heard the heartbeat for the first time and I cried with excitement.”

“I was shocked and sad in the beginning, not going to lie about it. I was thinking to myself, “how the heck I'm going to raise another child in this world?” I had mixed emotions for long time, but I’m so happy that he was born. It’s okay to have these emotions, to be scared, unsure, happy, sad etc. He and his brother are the best thing that has happened to me. I love them more than anything in this world.”

“Honestly I thought I could never had kids. Long story short, ever since I was a little girl my mom made me believe I could never have kids my partner & I tried countless times. Four failed pregnancy tests & I was convinced no babies for me till one day I tested myself one last time & sure enough when I saw that positive my heart dropped it was like we did the impossible. Sure we thought about abortion at the moment because we were worried about being young parents but I knew when I saw my daughter in our 1st ultrasound that she was & now is my whole life ❤”

“It might have not been the classiest thing but I just yelled "holy 💩" and my husband came running thinking something was wrong. And then I showed him the test and he said the exact same thing. LOL I was in denial until my very first ultrasound appointment. I kept thinking I was getting a bunch of false positives.”

“I hyperventilated and bawled my eyes out. I didn't think we could get pregnant and had just been at the doctor that morning saying that we wanted to try harder and do other tests to find out what the problem was. The doctor had me do a blood test to test my thyroid and a blood test for pregnancy, just in case. She called me after hours to tell me that I was pregnant. I started crying and hyperventilating. I couldn't finish the phone conversation and gave the phone to my sister. My mom and dad thought I was having a heart attack. I found out December 18th, I'm due August 17th with a little boy!”

“I was both shocked and relieved to know why I had been having weird symptoms all over. I showed the positive test to my fiancée and he started crying, my sweet man. 💕 I always thought that I might not even want to have children, but now I feel completely different! As soon as I learned and accepted that I'm bringing a new life into the world with my partner, it became one of my favorite things in life.”

“I was shocked. I just stood there shaking thinking I was seeing stuff because I saw a faint second line😂. Took a second test and it came out like the first. Honestly one of the most overwhelming days of my life and I started crying. Took those tests and a third when I got to my SO house and we just sat there. He threw up when we found out it was twins😂.”

“I was shocked. On a Friday night at a friend’s house, I took an early detection test and it was positive! I just stood there looking from the test to my friend saying "what?!" The next evening I told my husband by packing him a daddy diaper bag with the test at the bottom! And now we are expecting a little girl!”

“After me and hubby having been trying for 5-6 years to get pregnant, our fertility doctor recommended to get an IUI done. Personally for me, I felt like giving up trying, I couldn't accept the fact that I'm having a hard time getting pregnant and got tired of heartbreak and disappointment over the years of multiple negative pregnancy tests with ovulation kits. One day, I just had a sudden urge to fall asleep at 9am in the middle of my aunt's doctor’s appointment and hubby recommended I take a pregnancy test since he noticed I've been really sleepy lately. I highly doubted it at a time but took 2 home and a clinic pregnancy test and it was positive! Me and hubby were so happy and I felt a big sigh of relief and a big stress was lifted off my shoulder! Now we are enjoying every moment of the pregnancy and can't to meet our baby boy in a few months!!😍😍”

“With my first I was in complete shock. I was only 18 and having a panic attack! About three years later we started trying for baby number 2 and when I finally got my positive, I was screaming. The silent screams lol. I had my 2 year old daughter run the positive test to her daddy and say happy anniversary, as it was our 3 year anniversary of being together :) great gift I'll say!”

“I went back to sleep. My husband and I had just started trying and I took the first two tests too early and we couldn't tell if there was a line or not. A couple mornings later I woke up, peed on a digital one and got my answer. Went back to bed and my husband woke up a little. He looked at me and I smiled and nodded, saying that it was positive. We were both super excited but exhausted so he just grinned and then we snuggled up in bed and went back to sleep.”

“I cried. I was 16 and my aunt had just told me the night before that if I was pregnant, she wanted me to have an abortion. My now husband wouldn't answer my calls so I had to tell him over text. I went to eat at Olive Garden after and got What to Expect When Expecting. Started reading it and slowly started to feel better. I was scared as hell though.”

“I was so shocked because I had my first child 15 years ago haha so it was a big surprise for me.”

“With my first I cried. I was told I couldn't have children so I sat in the office and cried out of joy. With my second I cried. I cried out of fear because I wasn't ready. But I think I was more ready then I realized.”

“I looked at the test and had to take a double take but I was shocked and excited. Then I took a picture of the test and sent it to my husband.”

“I saw the positive test and passed out on the bathroom floor. Once I woke back up, I looked at it again and started crying out of joy. The impossible happened and I excitedly told my husband.”

“With our first, we were TTC. It was also my first round of Clomid. I tested March 10 of last year. Just 3 days before my 21st birthday. I didn't see the second line on my test. My husband did but I couldn't it was too faint. So he went to the store and bought me some more tests. Sure enough that next one was definitely a positive. We were so happy! Finally after over a year of trying, we were having our baby. She was a girl, Lila Brooke. 3 months after she was born, I'd went to the doctor to get on the pill since my breastfeeding hadn't worked out. Later on, my nurse looked at me and said 'Katie, hun, it's positive.' She called and told me I was about 6 weeks pregnant on February 12th this year. Just 2 days before Valentine's Day. So I text my husband since he was at work and said, Happy Valentine's Day. I know I can't afford to get you anything but you have already given me everything. A loving husband and 2 wonderful children. Looks like we are having another baby! Well he passed out too lol. Currently 23 weeks with our son, Asher Zane. Him and his big sister will be my Irish Twins :)”

“Looked at my boyfriend and asked him if he were ready to do this. I had full lacrosse scholarship at one of the best schools in the state so I knew my parents were going to be upset. After I told them, I binge downloaded pregnancy apps lol.”

“I took 2 tests. Messaged my boyfriend and went to Applebee’s for one last drink lol. The drink didn’t agree with me. Long story short, baby girl is almost here and we're excited!”

“We were definitely trying for her. We wanted a boy but that's okay. I found out at my dad’s when we were visiting. My dad offered me a drink and my fiancé said I better pee on a stick first lol. Sure enough I took the test and was jumping for joy in the bathroom, even cried a bit. I walked out to the garage and told him when we were alone and he hugged me so tight, I don't think we've ever had a happier moment than that. Now we have 3 months to go and we can't wait. ❤❤❤”

“Well I had just gotten back from a senior trip and I was late but I thought it was stress since I was graduating in less than a month. But my friends told me I needed to test so my boyfriend drove me to the store and I went straight to the bathroom. It didn't even take 30 seconds to come up with the positive. I walked to the car and I cried because I was going to college in the fall and my boyfriend was trying to find a job that fit with his class schedule. We then went to his house and I went to the bathroom to take the second one and it also took less than 30 seconds for the positive to show up. We laid down in bed and just talked. It ended up being the greatest blessing we could've received though. She is now 17 months and we couldn't imagine our lives without her! We are both full time students and we work odd jobs while looking for a steady job but we only have 2 years left of school until we start our careers and we do it all for our amazing little girl 😃 👣 💜 🍼 🚼 🚸”

“Shock and denial at first. Then started freaking out since it was not planned. Safe to say now it was the best thing that has ever happened to me.”

“I thought the cheap home test was wrong... So I had my fiancé go to the ER with me and the Doctor did 5 different tests. And they all came out positive along with two blood tests. And then it hit both me and my fiancé that we are finally going to be parents! We've raised so many other kids with our exes and raised my cousins little girl who got taken away from us. We are glad we are actually having one that can't get taken away from both of us!! We are excited to bring him in the world Sunday night/Monday morning!”

“I was in denial! I'm 38, and my last baby took 2 1/2 years & two miscarriages. All this time took was a bottle of fancy wine & my husband’s birthday! They sent me for an early ultrasound because I didn't know when my last period was. When the tech showed me the baby, I asked her if she was sure it's really a baby. She let me listen & see the heart beat until it sunk in. Then I cried, and cried! I felt bad for the denial, I felt bad because I swore our family was already complete. Now we are thrilled and cannot wait to meet our little man!”

“I was 2 days late, but I thought it was just because of stress. When I got the positive test I was so happy I cried. My husband had just been diagnosed with hairy cell leukemia about a month prior. We conceived right before he started his chemo. We were going to start trying after the chemo was out of his system but we weren't even sure he was going to be able to produce after all the chemo. Kyleigh is our little miracle baby. She was the good news we desperately needed!”

“Our 2-year-old was after a couple years and multiple rounds of IUI and IVF with a 2nd trimester miscarriage in there. He was just 6 months old when I found a digital pregnancy test in the cabinet. I was having that "pregnant feeling" for days and my husband kept cracking jokes that I was pregnant. I kept insisting ‘I'm 38 and have no eggs! Not possible.’ Well, my husband is a teacher and he had gone to work, so I figured I'd take the test since I had it and I could finally quiet his teasing. Needless to say, I called him at work before his first period class, nearly speechless, not sure if I should laugh or cry (because this would be child #4...the 2 kids in middle school were from our 1st marriages). I said "Ummm Brendan? I'm pregnant." His response was classic. Laughing, "Shut the hell up! I have kids coming in. Wait. Are you being serious?" I told him I was dead serious and to have a great day. 😂😂😂 He called me later to check if I was still serious. Finnegan is getting ready to turn 9 months old and Kieran just turned 2 last weekend!”

“I ran into the living and said to my husband, "there's a baby in me!” And then after I went to my best friend and she took me out to buy the first (gender neutral) outfit. It was Halloween and I was supposed to go to a party that night, but, I faked sick and stayed home because if I didn't drink, then people would for sure know what was up!”

“I was shocked! I wasn't expecting the pregnancy test to read positive! I just sat there like 😳😱. Then I told my mom because I was freaked out and I immediately went and got a second test and that read positive too. I was in utter shock but then I called my boyfriend to let him know.”

“I was trying for 6-7 years and I gave up. I had several appointments scheduled for fertility exams to find out what was wrong. I was working for an externship and my boss’s mom came up to me. She said congrats did you know you were pregnant?! I looked at her said it’s not possible. Told her several doctors told my husband and me that we would have to have major fertility medication. And that might not even work. Anyways I laugh at her and say no way. Since I was working in a doctor’s office, her mom said go take a test - I know you’re pregnant... So I go pee in a cup and low and behold I had 2 lines! I was so excited and in shock I ended up throwing my pee all over my coworker! Oops!!! Now 22 weeks pregnant with a healthy boy! Here is the test I took there and I took the picture that day to send to my husband! That was a crazy day for sure.”

“I got in my car and drove to target to buy baby stuff and I put it in a gift bag. Told my boyfriend: ‘surprise! I got you a present!’”

“I screamed, ran, and grabbed my hubby and dragged him to the bathroom to show him. While he responded with skepticism (the second line was suuuuper faint), I proceeded to hop around the house like a spazzed out bunny, squealing, insisting it was positive and that he needs to be more excited. Lol.”

“I sat on toilet and laughed for like 10 minutes. Then I called my husband and we decided to do 2 more tests and they all were positive. This was after 2 years of trying and we were in disbelief and oh so excited!!!!!!”

“I cried lmao. I don't even cry that much. I burst out in happy tears. I found out in Lincoln Hospital. I got the test done there because I don't trust home pregnancy tests. In that hospital, if you're 18, you still get put in pediatrics. So, I burst out in psycho happy tears and all the little kids walked past my door looking at me like I'm insane 😂😂.”

“I had just had a miscarriage the month before I found out I was pregnant again. I cried and then began to pray for a sticky baby this time around. So far so good 💕”

“My heart started beating so fast. I took the test for peace of mind because I was assuming my period was going to start soon. I was shocked. First thing I did was tell my friends they jinxed me... Haha.”

“I cried. I had just had a miscarriage 4 weeks before and hadn't even missed my period yet. I was so scared it would miscarry again. I had 3 in 13 months.”
