Ladies have any of you had or have a child that has or had night terrors?? My 4 year old just started having them and it is beyond scary. He is dead sleep screaming and when I try to wake him he doesn't register who I am and is frightened of me shaking and everything. I feel so helpless. I don't want my baby to go through this. How can I help him??

My 9 year old brother started getting them around 4 as well. My mom started having him sleep in her bed because they were so often. She would just hold him and rock him until he settled down. He doesn't get them nearly as often anymore, they kinda just stopped happening on their own.

My 4 year old has had them since age 2 he has them so bad he crys in his sleep and at times I can't even wake him. It's so hard to watch. I talk to him, pray with him, and try to soothe him any way I can when he's having them.

They say to never wake up anyone when they have a night terror. I'm in psychology for a summer class and she told us that you should just sit with them and comfort them until they wake up.

My sister had them and would scream that spiders were on her. She was around 3/4 years old as well. It is completely normal unfortunately. We just had to let them pass.
