did you wash the headbands before use?

I'm not washing them. I washed her clothes but her headbands are different. I mean, you can hand wash them or lightly spray them with disinfectant. I'm not completely trying to keep her germ free because it'll help her build some immunity but like the ones my parents gave her (smells like smoke) I'm going to soak in her detergent.

I'm scared to wash some of mine bc the way that they're made, I don't want them to fall apart but I may try hand washing them since they are so close to babies face and have been through the store and every thing. Who knows what they could have picked up!!
