The reason we didn't go out today is because my husband has bad PTSD (he's deployed before). Fireworks are only allowed outside city limits, well apparently our neighbors don't know we live inside fucking city limits. I feel terrible, I don't know how to make my husbands anxiety better. He keeps ducking and trying to take cover after each pop. :( uggghhh, it's going to be a long night.
okay good glad things are going better for him. just to clarify I never met anything will ill intentions. have a good night. 🙌🏻
no problem @alibaker21 your family will be in my prayers tonight!
thank you @mlgh92 for explaining it in a way I couldn't. @mamaash if I give him headphones he's going to throw them and get upset with me. we took a shower and now we're watching a movie with the surround sound on. we opened the curtains so he can see the fireworks with the noise. I'll probably leave music or the TV on tonight for him.
having PTSD I know headphones won't work. he's already heard them go off, as have I. putting earphones in takes most of the sound away, I agree. However, already hearing it, having PTSD, and knowing it is going to happen all night is still going to leave bad anxiety for all of us. If he is an over thinker like most people with PTSD (me) then all bight he's going to be worried about his family and not knowing if it's fireworks or guns, what if someone breaks in... All night, like I am. Headphones is not a good solution. He has already heard it. the best thing I would suggest, because that's what we're doing, is stay close to him, with the kids, comfort him. Go to the most quiet room in your house and play a board game so the kids don't ask any questions and make him feel bad. my husband and I have music on in the background, in the basement playing a game so I don't have to hear it but I'm still aware. His biggest thing is going to be wanting to be aware and you can't do that with any direct noise in your ear.
it kind of is actually when she says I don't know how to make my husbands anxiety better... putting on any kind of headphones with music loud enough to cancel out people's voices... will cancel out sounds of fireworks. so yeah....
but thats what the post is about.. im sure the head phones wont block out all of the fireworks 😑👌
yes it is an easy fix actually... when it comes to cancelling out the noise. I am not at all referring about his PTSD
@mamaash, like @aniyahsmommy0403 its not an easy fix.
went over to let them know, they felt bad, but there's still people popping them. :/ I called the cops to just let them know and they said they're aware of the situation and are sending an officer to patrol area. @aniyahsmommy0403 @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom
nobody ever thinks about that.. ive just now starting seeing post about it this year on fb but its been real asf.. people dont understand its not a joke.
I would call the cops and then go out there and explain you have a soldier with PTSD and if they cared about America, or their freedom they would respect got husband by not letting off the fireworks, and then remind them that it's illegal in your area to do so anyway.
I might here in a bit. I told my husband I would and he said no, not to ruin their celebration. :/ @aniyahsmommy0403
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
@itsamemario, you deleted your post before I could hit send but this is my comment: I don’t know if this answers your question but this is my answer.
My son is 7 and he knows race and color. Why? Because he himself comes from a family that is multi racial and because he has already experienced racism. I also believe as his mother it’s my job to teach him color and the cold hard truth about society. He knows what’s going on in this world. I’d be hurting him if I allowed him to blindly walk out...
Trigger. Lost baby
Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?
I don't think she gets it.
I swear sometimes I just need to renew my policy to not look at the comments in Facebook. I never used to. I don't know why I started. But the ignorance is real.

Friday night activities! I don't know if we will ever agree on one!
thank you @mlgh92 you will be in ours. ❤
