This month on the 18th I will be 9 months sober. My daughter Lyric is my angel. She was sent from the universe to save me. She is the number 1 reason why I stay clean and she holds me accountable. For example, the other day I had a very powerful urge to buy a pack of cigarettes and start smoking again. I kept thinking just 1 or 2 can't hurt. But I decided to research the affects of smoking and nicotine while breastfeeding and decided that the health of my little girl is way more important than my desire for a nicotine fix.
Thank you baby girl for saving me from the harm I was causing in my life and for showing me a strong path to sobriety. I am so thankful to be alive and safe today, with a healthy baby girl who is about to be a month old.
