I have a son who is 3 and he talks but his dad and I understand most of it but if you're not with it a lot you might not understand as much. he's never been to daycare and very rarely around other children. I spoke with his doctor and she said he needs to be somewhere that he's surrounded by children hid age. Has anyone been through this? Did your child take speech therapy or did he/she catch on in school?
I never went through it but a friend of mine did and she had her daughter is speech therapy. it took awhile to get her in tho because they didn't think it was a problem at first but it ended being she couldn't even start school because she wouldn't speak properly and it wasn't her fault she just needed help. I would look into speech programs in your area for help
go to parks if you can! if they have cousins or someone they can be around it will help, also if you work with them on their speech and correct them it will help. I was never around kids but I didn't use baby talk even when I was little (like pre school) I was using full sentences. each child is different though. but with them being socialized helps a lot. I had a lot of nephews and the more we corrected them and did small things that helped. plus is helps them learn things like sharing they can learn all sorts of things!
That's the same with my 3 year old nephew.
