When does a women start to dilate or efface in pregnancy? I am already 37 weeks starting tomorrow.

The first time they checked me was at 35 weeks. I was 1 cm but 75% effaced. I was on bedrest for other early labor signs (like the third time since 23 weeks) and my water broke at 35+6.
@evelyn581512 my doctors been checking me since 35-36 weeks. Sadly nothing lol. Each week he's like "well...maybe next week we'll see some progress!" and I'm just starting to lose hope lmao
I know I had no idea until I went in for contractions, and they checked me. So now I'm going to ask to be checked at every apt to see if it's progressing or just staying the same

id just ask. like i asked my doctor if she checks and she said no unless i ask. some doctors just dont like to check.. @evelyn581512

ask to be checked ! They don't like doing it cause it's uncomfortable for us. Every women starts at a different time though
I was 1cm and 50% effaced at 33 weeks and I'm about to be 35
my doctor haven't even checked me, that's why I'm asking I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and have no clue when he will check. @kayla471
some don't until they're induced. it just depends. I'm 38 weeks and still nothing.
I'm 37 weeks as of tomorrow and at my 36 week appointment I was at 1cm dilated and 80% effaced I'm a FTM too
