I was told not to bath her for a week just wash down Untill her cord fell off as you need to let it dry out to drop off and avoid infection. We now bath her every other day to avoid drying her skin out

Thanks girls, I never really thought about it until now, think ill stick to sponge/wipe down until the cord bit drops off! So glad I have this app to ask these sort of questions haha xxx

My little one got bathed at the hospital for a demonstration and not only that he was covered in poop 😂

I bathed my little girl the first night home and every night since unless we stay away or have a late night xx

With my first 12 years ago, the midwife bathed him he day after, with my 2year old I was told sponge/wipe down only until his cord had fallen off x

I waited two days and just kept the cord dry after that. I now both both mine every night as a part of their routine x

I was told to wait at least 48 hrs after birth some people I know have waited a week, I never have waited a week with either of my kids and they're absolutely fine but I'd say wait at least 48hrs and maybe give baby a little wipe with some warm water and cotton wool if you're really wanting to give baby a little clean xx

they told me not to bath them for the first 24 hours as baby needs to regulate their temperature and to bath them every other day @briony1994 xx

I was advised not to bath until their cord fell off. You can top & tail them if they need it before then. My on was 10days when he had his 1st & I bathed him every other day back then.
