So that I don't have to explain this again, I do not have a doctor, and cannot get one.
I have a fear of doctors and medical settings, along with anxiety and PTSD, which causes me to have panic attacks when I try to get a vaginal exam done. I want to get one, but I don't have control over myself in that situation and if they tried to touch me I would physically fight them off.
I need to have a vaginal exam legally in order for them to do any other kind of exam or continue with visits.
"What are you going to do when you give birth?"
Hopefully have them strap me down or drug me. I don't really know. But that question keeps me up at night and makes me bawl my eyes out so please stop asking and leave me alone....
Plus I called like 5 dif ob offices before I settled on mine. You can call different offices and ask if they have a midwife staff and ask to speak to them exclusively
I had to see a family practitioner for my thyroid medication because my Obgyn doesn't handle those things and I never had an exam done. the checked my weight, blood pressure and listened to my lungs. Thats it. so there is no reason for them to give you a vaginal exam for depression and anxiety medication. Good luck and breath
Midwives are not doctors, they are nurses that specialize in pregnant people stuff~
A lot of times midwives work in the doctor office. Midwives are a little more personable and less doctor like. You can do a home birth even working with a midwife. Who knows they might even do home visits cause of your anxiety. I know my doctor office has 4 midwives
@tiffrae I might try it... I'm talking to my partner right now and I told him what I might do is come with a written and signed note from me saying I consent, and have him pin me down the whole time while they do the exam. I'm terrified I'm gonna hurt him, but we have a really strong relationship so we should be able to get through it. We can go in again and just use that as a backup plan in case we can't tell them we don't want an exam.
@karnamarie I don't know much about the process of getting a midwife (my partner does all the grown up financial stuff for me) but I always wanted a home birth. I had planned for one since middle school. But my partner and I talked about it and I forget why but it basically came down to him delivering the baby (he's been professionally trained) and he was too afraid to have my life and the baby's life resting in his hands, so we had to decide on a hospital birth, oh so reluctantly. That's been the plan ever since...
Well if you took a urine then they have proof you are pregnant and by law you have the right to your medical records. So you can obtain those and get your state assistance or go to a lab like i suggested.
tell them to pack it up their ass you can decline anything you want. My sister declined glucose test during pregnancy and iv port at birth because she has a phobia of needles.
Have you tried finding a doula or midwife to have an at home delivery?
@arivera64 when I went to the doctors thats what they did, all in one day. I filled out a ton of paperwork, did a urine sample, and then the same day they were going to do a vaginal exam. They told me while I was there that I'd need to get blood drawn after I was done there. But after my panic attack they basically dropped all my files and info and told me to go home, that there was nothing they could do.
@tiffrae We went to the doctors for the first time at about 4 months, and they said they legally had to do a vaginal exam in order to do a sonogram or anything else.
proof of pregnancy can also come from a lab such as quest diagnostics. Go in and ask for a blood draw. Or even to an urgent care clinic
Also i don't know what laws you are reading but most everyone i know had to go into the office for a urine test to prove pregnancy. Then they're scheduled for a dating ultrasound. THEN....comes the exams etc
Not everybody has seen your previous posts or will even see this one so you're bound to be asked again. Maybe you can find a community of women who are dealing with similar issues that can relate and give advice because it seems most ppl here do not grasp the depth of your situation
they will not give you a vaginal exam with you being that far along. Just go to the doctors with someone who keeps you calm to help with your anxiety.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Locking your doors
We are having a discussion on one of my birth boards from my older kids about locking doors and security alarms. There are many of us (me included) who do not lock our doors at home (I actually don't even have a deadbolt on my house and we don't lock it when we leave either), and others who think that's totally weird. So what do you do? Do you lock your doors? Do you think it's weird that people don't?
Please help!
My doctor is trying to induce me before 40 weeks because she's going to be off on my due date and says my placenta is starting to look old. How do I get labor started?? I don't want to be induced for no reason and I'm thinking I won't have a choice. Please help. What do I do to get things going?
When is a vaginal ultrasound required? I hope I don't have to get one. 😖
Soooo when you catch someone in a major lie but you don't want to blast them, what do you do? I now have no respect for them...
first off I was declined at my local clinic to be seen so what I did went to the er and I explained everything to them that I was being neglected and I was already going on 10 weeks and they can tell I did a urine and a blood work they called my local clinic told them my rite and they gave me my prenatal vitamins and paper's to assist me with any other problems if it was to happen again
