What Do You All Moms And Moms To Be Think About This?
to each their own. I put my first son in nothing but name brand. my 2nd and 3rd I shopped target and walmart and this baby I've gotten a ton of stuff from rummage sales so I've been all over the board on this :) if ppl want to buy high end stuff that's their business and their $$
Hey I never said my kid would look like they live off the street. I won't pay 100$ for a pair of jeans they'll wear for less than a year yes but you can dress your child nicely for less. That was my opinion, not a judgement. Don't judge me and say my kid will look homeless.
I think its more the parents then the child. like the parents don't want to look bad and honestly kids don't care what they're wearing, as long as they're having fun. you can find the same name brand, good condition clothes at Goodwill or any other store too.
That's not true because kids can be dressed extremely nice for little of nothing. But to each it's own. If you let your child look like their off the street then that's failure on the parents part. I believe the older they get the more you can spend on nicer things for them. I don't mind buying my 5 year old a 60 dollars pair of shoes because her feet aren't growing too fast. She's been in the same size for a year. Every body has standards for themselves. There are people out there that will spend 1300 dollars on a stroller and I think that's crazy. But they have the money for that. Basically it all comes down to staying in your price range. Don't live like you're rich just to show off for other people when you're struggling to pay the power bill. Stay in your money means. If you got it get if you don't strive for it.
it was posted on Facebook from some one and left me with out words. @darianaweaver
I think we all know it wasn't your original post, you just asked how all of us felt about it. No big deal. :)
completely agree. its one thing if you have money to spend like that but in reality basically nobody does. I buy my children's clothes from Goodwill, Target, Walmart,Ross and whatever clearance is at the Mall, never will I pay high or full prices for something that is either going to get ruined from stains or be out grown. shoes are another thing, they have one/two pairs of "expensive"(name brand) shoes that are only worn when we go out somewhere nice and the rest are from the same stores I shop at. I won't buy them shoes unless they're walking either.
I agree with it I mean my sister in law volunteers at the salvation army and I tell her what I need and she gets me stuff that has barely been used or still has tags and shell pay $15 for everything I need when normally $15 barely pays for one outfit these days. they grow so fast too. all the summer dresses I bought last year my stepdaughter is too tall for them now. I'd rather spend money on experiences like camping and whatnot for memories, not clothes that you'll wear for 3 months
My baby has a few name brands things like a pair of shoes and car seat so far lol... I honestly think it can be a waste of money, but then again it does last longer... With my 15 yeard old I bought so much name brand stuff because I was 18 years old and was into all the name brands lol but OMG she grew outta that stuff so fast and hardly ever wore any of it. I learned a lesson, so with this one I been to thrift stores and bought a lot of name brand stuff for very very cheap lol.
My kids have a few nice name brand things but for the most part they wear cheaper clothes. Mine do grow out of things very quickly both are in the 90%+ for size at their ages. I don't think it makes anyone a better or worse parent for deciding to or not to dress their kids a certain way
I see this post as saying don't go broke trying to impress.. If you don't got the money to do it then don't . If you do then great .. Simple .. But you can always sell or give to a family member when infant, toddler, or even teenager out grows it.. Not a big deal to get butt hurt about everyone is different ... and every one is going to do what they want at the end of it 😊
For me personally... I think kids grow too quickly to spend that much on stuff. Once they slow down on the growing and need stuff to last them is when I'd spend a lot of money on nice things. Like others have said "to each their own."
I agree and disagree with it. I don't mind shopping at target and Walmart but if I want to go out and buy my daughter a pair of uggs then I'm going to because that's what I work for. To give my kids the best and what I want them to have. No I'm not going to teach them to be name brand whores but why not have nice things. Common sense shoes are going going to get dirty and they will grow out of their clothes. I believe that you spend money on what you like no matter how much it costs. My kids have Walmart target Carters and then they have polo Michael kors and Jordan's.
I think everybody should mind their own business about what other mothers buy their children. Do I buy my son new clothes? Yes. Do I also buy him clothes at thrift stores? Yes. It's all about good deals for me. You can find brand new name brand clothes with the tags still on them at thrift stores. I never buy anything that LOOKS used or is stained. And if I buy new, it's worth it for me. Yes, babies outgrow things fast and to me personally, spending $50 on an outfit or $100 on shoes isn't worth it for the amount of time it will fit. But if another momma thinks it's worth it, buy it up girl! Do what you wanna do for your baby! As long as our babies are clean and clothed properly, idgaf.
when my baby was first born I wanted high end clothes for him and they were cute but we don't go anywhere and especially how fast his feet were growing I gave up that mindset because I realized it was ridiculous. I agree with this post but I don't go cheap cheap still
Each to their own, but I much rather go to consignment and second-hand clothing stores. They sell adorable good quality clothes for incredible prices. ☺
@mommy_of_02, exactly :) stay within your means and don't buy things just to look like you have more than you do.
